On January 7th, 2017, the Blind Brook High School Robotics Team, aka the Jellyfish, attended the Somers Qualifier. Prior to this, the team worked almost daily to complete the robot that would take part in the event. In the initial round of the qualifier, the Jellyfish placed 8th, cementing their position in the semifinals. Even though the team lost in the semi-finals, they were able to secure two awards. The Jellyfish won second place for the Motivate Award, for “clearly demonstrating what it means to be a team.” In addition, the team earned the Connect Award, which qualified them to advance to the regionals on February 5th of 2017. The team gives thanks to Mr. Giglio, the community, and all of their sponsors for their support.
