On January 31st, both our Blind Brook Trojan Men’s and Women’s Varsity basketball teams played in their intense homecoming games, leaving everyone on the edge of their seats!
Starting off with the girls whose game took place at 4:30, their team’s rose ceremony honored the seniors, Natalie Carey, Captain Makayla Dutra, Emily Solow, and Natalie Genovese. These seniors have contributed to the Trojans successful season, leading to their big homecoming dub. The end result of the Girls Varsity game had Blind Brook take home a 51-31 win, outscoring the Briarcliff Bears by 20 points. Led by Junior Captain Kendall Konigsberg, with 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 steals.
After a strong first game from our Lady Trojans, the Boys Varsity team had their homecoming game at 7:30. Honoring seniors Captain Noah Brookman, Jack Gold, Luke Miller, Nico Palacios, Aidan Sachs, Cooper Schloss, and Elliot Zwicker. With the stands full and completely sold out, the gym was electric. The score went back and forth with both teams full of fatigue. Our student section was full of spirit, but unfortunately Blind Brook fell 51-46 to Briarcliff. Still with outstanding performances from Captain Noah Brookman with 14 points, Captain Tyler Taerstein with 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Nico Palacios with 7 points and 3 steals. These boys have persevered so hard through this 2024-2025 season, they are on fire. Both our Men’s and Women’s Varsity basketball teams are now headed to the Westchester County Center for the final four after a rollercoaster of a season for the girls, and a huge streak for the boys.
Along with our outstanding players, recently Junior Captain Kendall Konigsberg for our women’s team and Senior Captain Noah Brookman from our men’s team reached 1000 career points! Only in her Junior Year, the guard Konigsberg has been a total weapon and huge asset for Blind Brook and reaching her 1000 career point milestone in a game on December 13, 2024 vs. Pelham, along with many LOHUD player of the week nominations. Congratulations Kendall! For Senior Captain Noah Brookman, the 3 point king, he scored his 1,000th career point at an away game January 16th vs. Briarcliff after defeating the Bears 60-53. Brookman had 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals that game, deserving that 1,000 point milestone. These players are ones to look out for the rest of the playoff season. Go Trojans!
